Follow up with Children's Mercy

Today we went back up to Children’s Mercy to talk to Dr. Demarco, who is a kidney stone expert. Dr. Gatti the urologist thought there may have been a stone present in Jack’s right kidney, so he wanted Dr. Demarco to look over his medical records and previous ultrasound to see what, if anything, had to be done next.

Dr. Demarco doesn’t really think it is a stone, just maybe some sediment left over from his first bladder infection, in which case he will expel it naturally on his own. We’re going to do a follow up ultrasound again in a couple months just to check on it, though. All clear for now! :-)

Children’s Mercy is so awesome, though. You can kind of see from the photo how brightly colored the walls are, and how kid-friendly the entire hospital is.

I REALLY wish they had pediatricians there, but alas, they do not! Hmpf!

Sidenote: Here’s a photo of Jack on the way home. He has apparently decided that he doesn’t like shoes and socks.

Pissed that he can't yank his shoe off, heh!

Get.the.shoe.OFF, mommy!
